The Ashiari variety belongs to the cherry-tomato group. The plant is often used in experimental work dedicated to nutrition physiology, the influence of potassium fertilization and post-harvest treatment, as well as in studies on grafting onto rootstocks, such as Maxifort.

The variety is adapted to conditions of protected cultivation and is used in commercial production. Scientific works involving this variety cover the study of fruit biochemical parameters, including pigment content and antioxidant activity, as well as the influence of irrigation and fertilization regimes on produce quality.
