Biola is not a tomato variety or hybrid intended for fruit production. It is classified as a rootstock used as a base for grafting cultivars.

The primary economic purpose of the rootstock is to increase the resistance of cultivated tomatoes to soil-borne pathogens and environmental stress factors, as well as to increase their vigor.
