The variety is mid-late with a vegetation period of 110–120 days. The plant is of the determinate growth type, reaching a height of 40–55 cm. To obtain high-quality fruits, the use of supports such as stakes or trellises is recommended.
The fruits have a round, slightly flattened shape, red color, and 3–4 seed locules. The flesh is juicy and fleshy; the fruits possess good firmness and are capable of maintaining freshness after harvest for 10–12 days. The variety is characterized as tolerant to major tomato pathogens.
Buzău 22 is intended for cultivation in the open field. It is suitable for both fresh consumption and industrial processing, including the preparation of juices, pastes, and canning.
