The Calypso variety in agronomic studies at the turn of the 80s and 90s was classified as a round-fruited tomato. In these works, it was used as a reference sample when studying the characteristics of fruit firmness and keeping quality in comparison with other varieties.
In current professional catalogs, this variety is not represented as a modern market position. The name Calypso is also used for a number of other agricultural and ornamental crops, including calendula, onion, plum, apple and bean.
