The variety is a traditional Italian landrace from the province of Lucca. It belongs to the mid-season group with a growing period from 85 to 110 days. The plant is of the indeterminate type, reaching a height of 150–180 cm and requires pruning to 2–3 stems with mandatory tying to a support.
The fruits have a pear or basket shape with characteristic ribbing in the upper part and a weight from 100 to 350 g. The flesh is dense, meaty, and grainy, with a low seed content. The fruits are characterized by good keeping quality and transportability.
