Variety description

10 August 2026

Ciliegia represents a group of heirloom Italian open-pollinated varieties. Plants can be either indeterminate with a height of 120–180 cm or compact forms 40–60 cm tall, suitable for container cultivation. The fruiting period of early or mid-early plants can last until October.

The cherry-shaped fruits have a diameter of 1.5–2.5 cm and a weight of 10–40 g. The color is predominantly bright red or ruby, with yellow-fruited varieties also occurring. The tomatoes possess resistance to cracking and good keeping quality.

The variety is suitable for cultivation in open field and protected cultivation, as well as in pots on terraces. The plants require regular side-shoot removal and staking to supports, and respond well to fertile soil and abundant sunlight.
