Corriente de Benaocaz is an heirloom variety that has been preserved and cultivated by local farmers in the province of Cádiz for decades. The plant is of the indeterminate growth type.
In the growing region, the variety is sown in May–June and harvested in September. The fruits are characterized by a fleshy structure and the absence of surface deformations, which was historically achieved through selective breeding.
