The variety is indeterminate; plant height reaches 180 cm or more. The fruit ripening period is from 75 to 90 days.
The fruits are large, weighing 170–225 g, have an oblate shape with characteristic deep ribbing and a bright red color. The fleshy structure of the fruits makes them suitable for preparing sauces, pastes, canning, and fresh consumption.
As an heirloom variety, it does not possess the specific disease resistance inherent in modern hybrids and is prone to cracking with irregular watering.
