The variety is indeterminate, reaches a height of 180–220 cm, and requires side-shooting and staking to a support. The fruits have a dark pink or crimson color, are distinguished by a meaty structure and sweet taste. They are used primarily for fresh consumption and the preparation of juices.
The plant possesses genetic resistance to Verticillium wilt and Fusarium wilt, as well as to Tomato mosaic virus. Several varieties are known under the name Goliath, including a historic American variety, the characteristics of which are provided in the description.
