The original American Homestead variety is a semi-determinate plant with vigorous, compact bushes. Its red fruits reach a mass of 200–250 g and possess a fleshy consistency and resistance to cracking. The variety is distinguished by high heat tolerance, the ability to set fruit under extreme temperatures, and resistance to Fusarium wilt and Alternaria.

European collector versions of the variety can differ significantly from the original, exhibiting signs of an indeterminate growth type with a plant height of 1.3 to 2 meters. The fruit mass of such forms varies from 300 g to 1 kg and more, and the shape can be round or oblate with slight ribbing. The maturity period of the variety is estimated in various sources as mid-season or mid-early, covering a period from 75 to 115 days.
