This tomato is not a standardized breeding variety, but a regional specialty grown in the Nijar area, Almeria. A characteristic feature of the process is cultivation under conditions of controlled stress using saline water, which significantly affects the biochemical composition of the fruit.
The fruits are distinguished by firm flesh, an intense aroma, and a high dry matter content of up to 10°Brix. During the winter period, characteristic green streaks may appear on the skin. The taste and aroma develop most intensely during low night temperatures between November and May.
