The original hybrid was introduced around 1974 under the experimental designation Hybrid 888. Modern versions of the variety are characterized as super-early; the period from germination to the beginning of fruiting is 85–90 days.

The plant is of a determinate growth type, reaching a height of about 120 cm. The plum-shaped fruits with a pointed tip are bright red, weigh 45–50 g, have a universal purpose, are suitable for fresh consumption and canning, and are distinguished by good keeping quality and transportability.

Modern F1 hybrids possess resistance to verticillium wilt (VA, VD), fusarium wilt (FOL), leaf mold (FF), and tobacco mosaic virus (TomV).
