Macero II is a mid-season hybrid (F1) with a maturity period of 76–80 days. The plant is characterized by a determinate growth habit; fruits have a pear or cylindrical shape, red color, firm flesh, and thick walls.
The variety is resistant to tobacco mosaic virus, Fusarium wilt (races 1 and 2), and Verticillium wilt. In international tomato testing protocols, it is often used as a reference variety for comparing morphological characteristics when registering new cultivars.
