The Mainpak tomato variety is mentioned in vegetable crop variety trial reports from the late 1970s – 1980s. The originator of this variety is the company Sunseeds.
In 1978 field trials, the variety is characterized as having firm fruits. Other detailed morphological descriptions, including plant height, maturity group, and disease resistance, are not provided in the publications.
The name Mainpak is also found in scientific literature in relation to melon (Cucumis melo L.), therefore, clarification of the botanical species is required to identify the variety.
