The variety is the result of folk breeding and is preserved in the germplasm bank at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. The plant is used primarily for fresh consumption and is often classified as a salad variety.

As part of scientific projects studying genetic diversity, the variety underwent agromorphological characterization, including a description of fruit shape and color. Researchers note the phenotypic similarity of this variety to other local varieties, such as «Pometa» and «Pera de Girona».

There is scientific research data on the study of the variety's response to the influence of mycorrhizal fungi, as well as on issues of resistance to root-knot nematodes in comparison with other genotypes.
