The variety was developed at the Maritsa Vegetable Crops Research Institute in Plovdiv. In scientific publications, it is mentioned as a carrier of the Tm22 gene, which provides resistance to tomato mosaic virus.

In current breeding programs, the variety is used as genetic material for the development of hybrids resistant to tomato mosaic virus and tomato spotted wilt virus. The variety is included in the official list of crops permitted for cultivation in Bulgaria.
