Variety description

10 August 2026

The Rio Grande variety is mid-season, with the period from emergence to fruit ripening being 110–120 days. The plant is of the determinate type, bush height varies from 60 to 100 cm, and it has regular-type leaves.

The fruits are plum-shaped with a weight of 100–140 g. The flesh is characterized by density and a high dry matter content, which ensures the crop is suitable for transportation and long-term storage.

The variety has resistance to a number of tomato diseases and tolerates heat and drought. Due to the abundance of fruits, the plant requires staking. The purpose of the fruits is universal: fresh consumption, whole-fruit canning, pickling, and preparation of sauces and pastes.
