The variety is an ancient folk landrace originating from the city of Tlacolula in Mexico. The plants are tall, reaching 1.8–2 meters in height, and require pruning and staking. The period from sowing to fruit ripening is from 75 to 110 days.

The fruits have pronounced ribbing and a pear shape, resembling a flower when cut. Their weight varies from 100 to 350 grams. The fruit flesh is tender and fleshy, containing a small number of seeds.

The variety has a universal purpose and is suitable for fresh consumption, preparing salads, stuffing, and making sauces. The plants are capable of adapting to difficult growing conditions and respond well to sufficient sunlight.
