Variety description

10 August 2026

The Ardfern variety (registration code 'GRT1') is a shrub with a dense crown, often offered in nurseries in standard form. The plant has decorative pinnate leaves that turn golden, orange, and red shades in autumn.

The fruits of this mountain ash variety are white, turning pink over time. The plant is characterized by frost resistance (zone 5b), is undemanding to soil types, and prefers sunny places or partial shade. Used in the landscaping of gardens, parks, and alleys.
