The hybrid is characterized by a tannin content of about 3.4%, which required the use of processing methods to improve the feed properties of the grain. During field trials in the early 1980s, the variety demonstrated a yield comparable to other commercial hybrids of that period.

The plant possesses resistance to sorghum downy mildew. The hybrid was used in scientific research as an object for studying methods of tannin deactivation in animal feed.
