The Luzar hybrid is classified as a sorghum-sudangrass hybrid. In agricultural practice, the plant is used as a forage crop for livestock grazing or for the production of green mass and silage.

In scientific research, the variety is considered as part of hybrid groups for evaluating yield under various mowing regimes. The plant is also being studied as a promising raw material for biogas production.
