The grain sorghum hybrid P8699 is classified as a very early maturing variety. During agrotechnical trials in 1997, the yield of the crop was 88 bushels per acre.

This hybrid is a product of previous generations of breeding and is mentioned primarily in archival reports on agricultural crop variety trials from the 1990s. Detailed morphological and genetic characteristics are not presented in available sources.
