The variety is a late-maturing hybrid with a days-to-flowering period of 76–85 days and a plant height of 140 to 170 cm. The grain has a red color, and the panicle is characterized as semi-open. The recommended seeding rate is 4–7 kg/ha, with the number of seeds per 1 kg ranging from 26,000 to 30,000 units.

The plant possesses pronounced resistance to diseases; in particular, it demonstrates increased resistance to bacterial leaf streak (causative agent Burkholderia andropogonis) and leaf blight (Exserohilum).

This variety is classified as a crop with high tannin content and is used primarily in malting production. It often serves as a reference sample when evaluating malt quality and grain processing, while its organoleptic properties regarding bitterness and astringency can be comparable to tannin-free varieties.
