The plant is a compact cultivar with shortened and widened leaves of a deep blue-green shade. The flowers of the variety are larger than those of typical representatives of the original species.

The plant flowers earlier than other cultivars of this species. Used in ornamental gardening for creating borders, mass plantings, rock garden arrangements, and container cultivation.
