The Cay Julav variety, also known under the trade name Calypso Jumbo Lavender, is a perennial plant that is often grown as an annual. The species Sutera cordata, to which the variety belongs, has been moved to the genus Chaenostoma in modern botanical classification.

The plant has heart-shaped leaves and is characterized by lilac-hued flowers. The variety is intended for decorative landscaping and is used in floriculture as a trailing or groundcover form.
