The plant belongs to the species Symphyotrichum novi-belgii (New York aster) and is used in ornamental gardening. The variety is part of the "Viking" breeding series.

The plant habit is of the semi-erect type. In comparative variety trials, it was established that the inflorescence diameter of this variety is larger than that of the Synfrost variety.
