Variety description

The tree is characterized by the absence of a natural central leader, causing all shoots to hang downward. Without staking to a support, the plant adopts a prostrate form. With support, the height reaches 3–7 meters, and the crown width is 3–4 meters.
The needles are soft, linear, light or dark green, turning orange-red and red-brown in autumn. Young shoots are yellow-green, later becoming red-brown. The bark is fibrous, eventually acquiring a furrowed structure.
The variety prefers moist, marshy, or well-drained fertile soils and is light-loving. Hardiness zone 6a, withstands frosts down to -20...-23 °C. The plant possesses good wind resistance and tolerates moderately dry conditions after rooting.
