Cool Gold is a perennial herbaceous plant with a height of 30–45 cm. The leaves possess a fuzzy texture and a stable golden-yellow color that persists throughout the season. Daughter rosettes form at the points where the leaf blade attaches to the petiole.
During the period from May to June, the plant produces tall flower stalks with small reddish-brown flowers; however, flowering is rarely observed in pot culture. The variety is fast-growing, winter hardy in USDA zones 6–9, and intended for use as a ground cover or pot plant.
