The variety is a mutated form of a plant previously classified as Tradescantia cerinthoides. Currently, the botanical classification of the variety is a subject of discussion, and it is assigned to the Continental Group, a collection of hybrid cultivars. The plant is prone to confusion with other forms, such as 'White Nanouk'; however, the main distinguishing feature is the pure white flower petals, whereas they have pink tips in T. cerinthoides.
The plant possesses distinct white leaf variegation, which can acquire soft pinkish hues under sufficient lighting. Unlike the typical T. cerinthoides, the EC-TRAD-2303 variety is characterized by more active branching at the base. The variety is used as a decorative indoor plant and is capable of abundant flowering in indoor conditions.
