The variety «Felix» belongs to the species Trichosanthes cucumerina L. ssp./var. anguina. It has undergone acclimatization in Romania at the Vegetable Research and Development Station in Buzău and is included in official registers under the name «dovlecel șarpe» (snake gourd).
The fruits of the variety are used as a vegetable crop. Research regarding this variety covers a comparative analysis of the chemical composition and antioxidant activity of the fruit juice.
