Saleroso plants have a uniform medium or medium-low height. The spikes are distinguished by the characteristic reddish-black color of the awns. The variety is adapted to various cultivation zones, demonstrating stability and regularity of yields.

The grain is characterized by a high specific weight and increased protein content with average thousand kernel weight values. The variety shows good resistance to major cereal diseases, in particular to powdery mildew and rust.

Due to its characteristics, the variety is suitable for use in various agricultural systems, including organic farming, and is intended for conditions typical of southern regions and warm valleys.
