Variety description

The variety was obtained by controlled crossing of selected samples of wild Ugni molinae. The plant is an evergreen shrub reaching up to 2 meters in height.
The fruits of the variety have firmer skin compared to the South Pearl INIA variety and have a sweet taste. They retain their properties when stored at 0°C for more than 20–35 days. The variety is an object of study as a source of biologically active compounds, including polyphenols and anthocyanins.
