The variety belongs to medicinal crops valued for the chemical composition of their underground organs. More than 60 components have been identified in the essential oil composition, among which valeranone, bornyl acetate, β-guaiene, spathulenol, valerenal, and (–)-valerena-4,7(11)-diene are distinguished.
The essential oil yield from dry roots is 0.40–0.42%, and from rhizomes — about 0.18%. When soil moisture is maintained at 90% of field capacity, the dry root yield exceeds 3520 kg/ha.
