Variety description
10 August 2026
The "Merlin" variety was bred as a decorative perennial plant. It differs from many other verbascum species by a longer life cycle and the ability to reliably overwinter in temperate climates.
The plant reaches a height of about 100 cm and forms a rosette of soft grey-green leaves, above which rise stems with large lilac-colored flowers. The flowering of the variety continues from June to August.
Successful cultivation requires sunny sites with drained soil.
