The variety belongs to the species Verbena ×hybrida (synonym Glandularia ×hybrida) and is used as a reference standard for registering other verbena varieties. The plant is used in ornamental floriculture for container and garden landscaping.

A distinctive feature of the flower is the absence of anthocyanin pigmentation on the calyx. The tips of the hairs protruding from the corolla tube are light green. The variety should be distinguished from Verbena bonariensis, which is a different botanical species.
