The BALAZSILMA variety is a trailing herbaceous plant, which is grown as an annual in regions with cold climates, despite its perennial nature. The plant is characterized by a specific coloration of the inflorescences, which is reflected in its trade name Silver Magic.

The plant is used primarily in ornamental gardening for hanging baskets and as a ground cover crop. The variety possesses marked resistance to powdery mildew. A mutant variety, Aztec White, was obtained from this variety through irradiation.
