The Bronto variety belongs to the fodder variety of fava bean. Plants possess a traditional stem growth type, which provides them with higher yield compared to determinate varieties. At early stages of vegetation, the variety is capable of forming a larger number of leaves.
Seeds contain tannins in a concentration from 0.88 to 1.69% calculated on dry matter. Plant stems are characterized by a relatively high fiber content. The variety is often used in biotechnological research as a model object for obtaining callus tissue and plant regeneration in vitro.
