The Brunette variety was created by the method of X-ray seed irradiation. It belongs to the group of colored beans and is distinguished by the presence of condensed tannins in the seed coats.

The high tannin content in the seeds of this variety may reduce the digestibility of amino acids, starch, and lipids when used in the diets of monogastric animals. The variety is characterized by early maturity and high yield.
