In UPOV guidelines, the variety Carole is used as a reference sample for variety testing, in particular for the characteristic of plant height, which is classified as medium. An assessment of the characteristic of the number of ovules per pod was also conducted.

The variety is intended for agricultural use as part of forage or cover crops. Detailed data on maturity group, resistance to diseases, lodging, and biochemical composition of the produce are absent in open publications.
