The plant forms a rosette of dark green leaves that lack sharp spines at the tips. The height of specimens varies from 2 to 9 meters in natural conditions; in cultivation, the plant is more often grown as a potted or tub plant.
The variety is intended for interior landscaping and landscape design in warm regions. It is characterized by low maintenance, drought tolerance, the ability to withstand sun exposure, and a requirement for well-drained soils.
The plant originates from regions of Mexico and Central America. Silver Star served as the source material for obtaining other varieties, in particular, the natural mutation Yugosta02.
