The variety is characterized by purple or violet flower coloration, sometimes with white shades. The foliage is green, with characteristic spotting. The height of a mature plant is between 60 and 90 cm.

The plant is intended for cultivation in the open field, containers, or for cut flowers. It prefers sunny locations or partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. It belongs to hardiness zones 8–10; in cold regions, it requires digging up for the winter. The plant is toxic if ingested.
