The F 107 line was created by the French National Institute for Agricultural Research and represents breeding material, not a commercial variety for widespread cultivation. It served as one of the components of the first early-maturing hybrid INRA 240.
In scientific publications, the line is used to study physiological characteristics, in particular the composition and digestibility of cell walls. In official documentation for maize trials, F 107 is used as a reference sample when conducting tests for distinctness, uniformity, and stability.
