The hybrid was created using a flint line, including 12.5% of F2 genetic material, and a dent line associated with Iodent, Wisconsin, and Ontario genetic material.

The plant is used as a forage crop. During studies, the hybrid demonstrated increased levels of crude protein and ether extract, and was also used to study resistance to soil salinity.
