The Fido maize variety was included in the Polish state register and was considered in scientific studies as an example of a crop requiring assessment of resistance to pathogens and reaction to chemical plant protection products.
During studies, the variety showed high susceptibility to Fusarium root and stem rot. Sensitivity of the plants to herbicides based on atrazine and florasulam was also recorded, which led to leaf deformation, delayed development, and a drop in grain yield.
