The Krokus maize variety belonged to the silage use type (S index) and was characterized by a maturity rating of 260. According to official descriptive lists for 2007–2009, the variety underwent testing under the Bundessortenamt system, where its yield, quality, and resistance indicators were evaluated.
Currently, the variety is considered obsolete as modern breeding programs are focused on newer hybrids. Detailed morphological characteristics of the plant and information regarding its breeding origin are not presented in public sources.
