The line belongs to the Iodent type and is used by breeders as a parental form for the development of commercial hybrids. It is frequently used as a model specimen for gene mapping, genome studies, and the evaluation of agronomic traits.
Morphologically, the line is characterized by a light tassel with a large number of branches. In terms of grain quality, PHN 11 is characterized by a low test weight. Research shows a decrease in root lodging resistance for this line under limited irrigation.
