The Tixxus YG variety is a GM maize, where the suffix YG indicates the presence of the YieldGard trait, which provides resistance to pests, in particular to the European corn borer, due to the expression of the Cry1Ab protein. The variety is intended for use in regions where the cultivation of GM crops is permitted.
Publicly available publications contain no data on maturity group, plant height, yield indicators, or disease resistance. One scientific publication mentions a Tixxus variant with a FAO 520 rating in the context of silage analysis, however, there is no direct confirmation that this description corresponds to the Tixxus YG variety.
