The popcorn maize «Vulkan» belongs to mid-season varieties with a vegetation period of 90–110 days. Plant height is 180–200 cm; stems have no branching. Cobs reach a length of 18–22 cm and contain small yellow grains intended for processing into popcorn.
The hybrid «Vulkan» from Euralis Semences is an early-maturing (FAO 170) three-way hybrid for dual use, intended for grain and silage production, with flint-dent grain type. In Russian breeding, there is also a hybrid «Vulkan» from OOO «SoyuzSemSvekla», which is characterized by drought tolerance.
Regarding the material from GIE Sockalb (France), official sources record only the fact of the variety registration, while detailed morphological and economic-biological characteristics are not publicly available.
