The Bellringer (X281) hybrid belongs to the early or medium-early maturity group with a vegetation period of about 77 days. The plant is medium-height and has dark green leaves. The cob reaches a length of 19–20 cm and contains 12–16 rows of yellow kernels.

The variety was intended for cultivation for the fresh market in northern regions. Regarding pathogens, the hybrid demonstrates mixed resistance: susceptibility to northern corn leaf blight is noted, while a number of sources indicate resistance to common smut.
