The Column hybrid (also designated as Column SH2 or HMC599302) is characterized by a strong plant and the formation of large, well-filled ears with high-quality grain. The ear possesses good protection and husk coverage.

The variety possesses high resistance to common rust (Puccinia sorghi), as well as intermediate resistance to maize dwarf mosaic virus (MDMV) and northern corn leaf blight (Et). The hybrid is suitable for flexible harvest timing.

The produce is oriented toward canning and freezing, demonstrating good marketable grain yield indicators, however, the hybrid is also suitable for sale on the fresh produce market.
